In June 2010, Kelly had an event at which voters could shoot an assault rifle with the candidate, promoted as thus: "Get on Target for Victory in November; Help remove Gabrielle Giffords from office: Shoot a fully automatic M16 with Jesse Kelly".[6]

The movement “TakeBackThe20″ had an accompanying website TakeBackThe20.com registered to Sarah PAC, P.O. Box 7711, Arlington, Virginia 22207. This map was widely criticized for showing the districts in crosshairs.

After the tragic shooting in Tuscan causing 5 deaths and leaving Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (AZ8) struggling for life, the website is not accessible anymore. The Google Cached version of TakeBackThe20.com still shows Palin’s support for Jesse Kelly – who lost to Rep. Giffords by less 4,000 votes.
Earlier in 2010, Giffords office was vandalized and said this on her appearance on MSNBC
“We’re on Sarah Palin’s ‘targeted’ list, but the thing is, the way she has it depicted, we’re in the cross-hairs of a gun sight over our district. When people do that, they’ve got to realize that there are consequences to that action.” -U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords, March 25, 2010

Following Giffords Shooting, Sarah Palin's Crosshairs Website Quickly Scrubbed From Internet

Sunday, January 9, 2011

In the minutes following the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and members of her staff, the website operated by Sarah Palin that illustrated Gifford's 8th district with gun crosshairs drawn on a map was scrubbed from the internet.

The site, TakeBackThe20.com, was operating normally at 1:07 CST when I connected to obtain an image of the crosshairs map:

"Ironically, the attempted assassination of Gabrielle Giffords benefits Olbermann's agenda to politically 'assassinate' the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Fox News, and other conservatives. Importantly, Olbermann was suspended by NBC last year for unethically donating monies to the political campaign of Gabrielle Giffords.
"Olbermann and his leftist comrades have attributed both Giffords' support for Obamacare and her opposition to Arizona's anti-illegal immigration law as the motive for the shooter's attempted assassination of her and, in this regard, Olbermann suggested over the weekend that there is a connection between the Tea Party's, Palin's, Fox News' and conservatives' opposition to these policies and actions. Olbermann seemed to suggest in his commentary that these entities, and in particular Sarah Palin, are responsible for and thus should be investigated for the shooting.

Grijalva on Olbermann Suspension

Posted by Mari Herreras on Sat, Nov 6, 2010 at 1:29 PM

U.S. Congressman Raúl Grijalva released a statement yesterday on Keith Olbermann's suspension without pay from MSNBC due to the contributions Olbermann made to Grijalva and U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway:

I am personally distressed and saddened by the news of Mr. Olbermann's suspension. If there were any way to undo what has been done, I would do it in a heartbeat. Mr. Olbermann is a respected media voice who has done good work at MSNBC for seven years, and I feel the network has overreacted with such a severe penalty. I welcome and appreciate his support, and the fact that his contributions were made as a private citizen — not as the host of Countdown — should be taken into consideration before MSNBC or the wider media make any final conclusions.
Unlike other national talk show hosts who use their programs to deceive the public or hawk self-promoting financial schemes, Mr. Olbermann has used his show to educate, inform and bring common sense to our airwaves. I would rather return the money he contributed than see this incident used to take him off the air. He made no effort to disguise his contributions from the Federal Election Commission, and at no time has he misled the public as to his intentions. MSNBC should reconsider its suspension and restore Mr. Olbermann as the host of Countdown.

Baiting the Mama Bear: Sarah Palin

family_guy_DownSometimes it seems as though the media enjoys it when Sarah Palin goes on a rant. She tends to laugh and throw down-home quips at the tough political problems, but when somebody goes after her family, she attacks back. (Just ask David Letterman.)
The latest reckless taunting happened on “Family Guy,” a cartoon known for its irreverent satire. In the episode, one character goes on a date with a girl who has Down Syndrome. At one point, this girl explains (with a slight slur) “my mom is the former governor of Alaska.”
Palin fired back with a note entitled “Fox Hollywood – What a Disappointment” on her Facebook page, where she quoted daughter Bristol’s response:

Andrea Fay Friedman, the voice actress who played the role of "Ellen" --the character depicted as having Down syndrome on the Valentine's Day episode of Family Guy, has responded to the criticism of sometime-Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Of special significance, Friedman herself has Down syndrome. Palingates has Friedman's complete response:
My name is Andrea Fay Friedman. I was born with Down syndrome. I played the role of Ellen on the "Extra Large Medium" episode of Family Guy that was broadcast on Valentine's day. Although they gave me red hair on the show, I am really a blonde. I also wore a red wig for my role in " Smudge" but I was a blonde in "Life Goes On". I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line "I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska" was very funny. I think the word is "sarcasm".
In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life. My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes.

Andrea Fay Friedman (born June 1, 1970) is an American film and television actress with Down syndrome.

[edit] Biography

[edit] Early life

She attended West Los Angeles Baptist High School and Santa Monica College. In 1992, she portrayed Amanda, the girlfriend of the character Charles "Corky" Thatcher, on the TV show Life Goes On for two seasons.[1] In 1993 she appeared in an episode of Baywatch, in which Mary Lou Retton organizes a Special Olympics-like event.[2] She starred in the 1997 film Smudge as Cindy, a girl in a group home for people with disabilities who attempts to hide her puppy, Smudge.[3] The film won the 1998 Humanitas Prize in the Children's Live Action category.[4]

[edit] Career

She was the voice of Ellen, a character with Down Syndrome, in the "Extra Large Medium" episode of Family Guy, her first role as a voice actor.[5] In the episode, Andrea’s character stated “My father is an accountant, and my mother is governor of Alaska.” However, per Andrea, “Sarah Palin said that was insensitive and cruel” and Andrea felt “it was only a joke.”[6] In an email concerning Sarah Palin's criticism of the episode, she said, "I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor."[7][8] She concluded, "In my family we think laughing is good. My parents raised me to have a sense of humor and to live a normal life. My mother did not carry me around under her arm like a loaf of French bread the way former Governor Palin carries her son Trig around looking for sympathy and votes."[8]
Friedman also had a main role in an episode of Law and Order: SVU, "Competence", playing a pregnant young woman named Katie.[9]

[edit] Personal life

A 48 minute documentary about her life, A Possible Dream: The Andrea Friedman Story with narration by Joanne Woodward premiered in 2009.[10][11] As of 2010, Friedman had been working at a law firm, as an accountant,[6] for 20 years. She also occasionally works as an assistant teacher for the Pathway program in UCLA, where she helps teach students how to live independently.[6] She has traveled to India and Japan, and speaks some Japanese. She also enjoys bowling and skiing.[8]
